The Kaduna Peace and Unity Forum (KPUF) has condemned former Governor Nasir El-Rufai’s “fraudulent and destructive legacies” that have left Kaduna in a state of indebtedness. The Forum passed a vote of confidence in Governor Uba Sani, stating that El-Rufai has no moral right to accuse him of sycophancy and pandering to President Bola Tinubu.
El-Rufai had launched a scathing attack on Governor Uba Sani, accusing him of seeking self-aggrandizement by working closely with President Tinubu. However, the Kaduna Peace and Unity Forum rose to the governor’s defense, citing his civil approach to governance and visionary leadership style.
According to the Forum, Governor Uba Sani’s support for President Tinubu is “apt and right” in their view. The Forum’s Chairman, Dr. David Bege Abraham, explained, “There is no place in the world where frictions with superior leaders such as a President can yield growth and development.”
The Forum also highlighted the huge debt left by El-Rufai’s administration, which has made it challenging for Governor Uba Sani to raise funds for development. Despite these challenges, the governor has been working tirelessly to ensure the gaps in the harsh economy are closed.
The Kaduna Peace and Unity Forum’s statement reads: “We can all testify to the commitments of the Governor to provide security that today has created an enabling environment for the citizens, residents, and business people.”
The Forum criticized El-Rufai’s recent comments on Governor Uba Sani, stating that they are unwarranted, especially since the governor did not abuse or destroy his image on a live TV program.
Dr. David Bege Abraham emphasized, “This was not the case in the days of Mal Nasir El-Rufai. We can argue the fact that he supported the Governor to win, but he should allow him to govern the State without interference and distractions.”
The Kaduna Peace and Unity Forum also addressed El-Rufai’s accusations against the APC, stating that Governor Uba Sani only provided insight into why they are aggrieved.
The Forum concluded, “What we want in Kaduna now is peace and unity, and not political fights. Anything short of this would be resisted by the good citizens of the state.”
The Kaduna Peace and Unity Forum’s defense of Governor Uba Sani is a testament to his commitment to providing security and development in the state.
As the debate surrounding El-Rufai’s comments continues, one thing is clear: Governor Uba Sani remains committed to his vision for Kaduna.
The people of Kaduna will continue to stand behind Governor Uba Sani, who has brought a sense of hope and renewal to the state.
